Crammed Discs was one of the most ambitious labels of the 1980s Belgian scene (along with Les Disques Du Crépuscule, among others). Specializing in the release of world music, deviant pop, and experimental electronic music, the label was founded and led by Belgian hero Marc Hollander (frontman of Aksak Maboul). This compilation brings together the label's most iconic names: Minimal Compact, Tuxedomoon, Zazou Bikaye, Bel Canto, John Lurie, and Mahmoud Ahmed. A good exploration of the label's catalog, from synth pop to Ethio jazz. (VG+/VG+)
