Big 2001 release by Berlin-based Monoland: hum... absolutely deliciously brain-melting walls of shoegaze guitars Kevin Shields should approve of, channeled in dozing tunes, that probably has more to do with Guitar Michael Lückner's Sun-kissed than my bloody valentine ; some extremely hazy dub cuts, sprinkled with bubbly bleeps - in a very German fashion. Super solid album, exactly at the crossroad where a lot of 2025 artists would like to stand. Each tune allows itself to stand quite far from the previous, still contributing to an extremely pleasant and coherent overall vibe: slow, sludge and extremely misty electronic rock, not dissimilar to Bowery Electric... Highly recommended! (VG+/VG+)
