Cheap synths, field recordings, and an overall pastoral ambience made this tape by Erik Kramer a heroic snapshot of early-2020s DIY aesthetics. This is not only because it assembled many of the tropes that were to unfold throughout the decade, but also because it dared to offer full-on hippie folk songs (such as the immense “Rain for the field”-one of my favourite songs of the decade, one of the very few recent tunes that kind of sound like Alice Coltrane and are good) alongside impressionist vignettes. Finally repressed by ANF.
