Shoegaze
UK shoegaze taking the balearic lane with the 8:41 long uplifting instrumental “Featherweight” - another one of these extremely accurately titled songs: melancholic and breezy as hell. Short-lived, the English band Blind Mr Jones nonetheless released 2 excellent albums of pure gritty shoegaze on Cherry Red, and a hand full of EP. Crazy Jazz is their second 12”. State-of-the-art wall of fuzzy guitars, but with a lighter and somehow more elegant touch than shoegaze champions of the time like Ride or Catherine Wheel. (VG+/VG+)
