Static bliss from the heart of the reactor: 1995 Frankfort. Over an hour of divinely stretched ambient techno by German trio Aural Float, a celebration of technology reminding of the music or Higher Intelligent Agency, or that that Spacetime Conitnuum or Model 500 would release at the same period, on the other side of the Atlantic ocean.
Ranging from 130bpm ambient techno ("South of the Clouds Pt.2") to the 70 bpm of the infectious "Pick Up The Virus" and the almost beatless stasis of "Introspection", a computer jam that showcases the kind of abstract computer-generated optimism that Oneohtrix Point Never would so brilliantly draw from on his earliest releases. Aural Float's debut album is pretty much a snapshot of mid 1990's technological utopian fantasies.Long tunes, obviously, sounding great on these 2 LPs. (VG+/VG+)
