Vrtacek\u003c\/strong\u003e's Learning To Be Silent\u003c\/span\u003e\u003cem\u003e\u003cspan\u003e, meshed with field recordings: people working, laughing, talking, living. A record design to document life, no less. A blessing.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/em\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cspan\u003eShin-ya Ohno handles a very diverse range of instruments (including the \u003c\/span\u003e\u003cem\u003e\u003cspan\u003egaida, \u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/em\u003e\u003cspan\u003ean ancestor of the bagpipes he studied in Bulgaria, accordion, guitar, flute, ukulele, piano, foot-pump organ, melodica, xylophone, ...) with which he creates gorgeous and intricate arrangements that serves as a binder for the vast array of sounds he collected during his time at the \u003cem\u003eArimasuton\u003c\/em\u003e construction site: \u003c\/span\u003e\u003cspan\u003ehammers and steel beams, lunchtime chatter, melodies of instruments played by others and the sound of cars passing by. \u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cspan\u003eKiMiMi’s creative process is characterized not by planned construction, but by chance, intuition and the passage of time:\u003c\/span\u003e\u003cspan\u003e fragmented recordings are layered, set aside for a time, \u003c\/span\u003e\u003cspan\u003ethen unearthed again. Through this repetition, the music naturally takes shape. And like with \u003cstrong\u003eTurner Williams Jr\u003c\/strong\u003e.'s recent \u003ca href=\"https:\/\/www.officepsr.com\/products\/turner-williams-jr-viperine\"\u003e\u003cem\u003eVipérine\u003c\/em\u003e album\u003c\/a\u003e, chance gives birth to unexpectedly harmonious compositions, that exhales a warmth not dissimilar to that of \u003cstrong\u003eTori Kudo\u003c\/strong\u003e's wonky \u003cstrong\u003eMaher Shalal Hash Baz\u003c\/strong\u003e ensemble.This resonates perfectly with the construction process of the Arimasuton Building, which was notably improvised, layer by layer, without any kind of blueprint. \u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cspan\u003e‘ИМА (Ima)’ marks the current stage of KiMiMi’s sonic journey and represents an attempt to transcend the boundaries between architecture and music, documentation and creation, the individual and the community. The clamour of the city, the tranquillity of manual labour, laughter,... music that reflects the very passage of time in which people live.
